《观察者》是英国历史最悠久的全国性周刊之一，它以对国内政坛热点新闻评论为重点，发表了著名英国政治哲学家、社会评论家Davidtaselbourn的文章，以一种批判和讽刺的笔调表达对现状的各种不满。

　　该杂志创刊于1828年，现在由巴克莱兄弟(BarclayBrothers)和每日电讯报共同拥有。它的内容主要涉及政治问题，笔风偏于保守(尽管很多经常投稿的作者如RodLiddle被认为是左翼)。此外，该书还涉及广泛的主题，书本、音乐、歌剧、电影、电视节目评论等也有相当的比例。
